Who Are We?
In 1999, three friends decided to get together and take over the management of a small hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet, the historical area of Turkeys most famous city of Istanbul.
The hotel that we chose was the Tashkonak, an old 19th century Ottoman mansion that had been converted from two old stone (Ta?) houses.
We wanted to offer visitors to Istanbul somewhere to stay that was different from the other hotels and hostels in the area.
At Tashkonak, our guests experience a real family atmosphere, together with genuine Turkish hospitality.
All our guests are very important to us. In fact, they are more than just hotel guests.
They become our friends and are part of an extended family, the Tashkonak family.
